| About Us: |
The authors of these pages have been around leagues for quite some time as a players, TDs, HTDs, Admin's and Head Admin's.
Being very aware of all the struggles it takes to make a league successful, we decided to create these pages.
From searching for rooms and finding players to creating league pages, there's a whole lot to do.
For the most part it takes a lot of time and dedication to run a league. Dedicated is a word I can not over express. |
|
| Were do I start ? |
First off and I think the most important question to ask yourself is DO I HAVE THE TIME AND THE DEDICATION?
That's a big question .... A lot to thing about. We can't help you with that answer, But we can tell you it takes both.
After deciding on what game or games you want to start the league in, the first thing that you have to do is find the game room that is not occupied by another league.
You should hang around that room as much as you can, ask other players if there is a league there and ask the room regulars if there interested in having a league there.
Not all regulars in the rooms like leagues ..... the authors know this from first hand experience.
Well, if you have good results, positive feedback from the regulars and there's not a league there, its time to create you league. Our Room Guide's will show you what rooms are occupied by existing leagues. * Please note that if a room on the guide does not have a league named for that room, it does not mean that there isn't one there. You should still check the room out and ask the regulars.
After you have thought of a great name for your league and created it, looking for league page ideas is on the agenda. In our League Pages section we have a very easily modifiable league page template, even if your not real familiar with HTML. All of the sections are outlined in the source code to make editing the league page template a breeze. Currently there are 2 templates, but in the future we hope to add more. |

The Weather
and
On-Line Gaming |
Spring is here with summer soon to follow and league activity is down. What do I do?
When the weather gets hot and there's more outside activity's to do, on-line gaming time goes down for most people. To try to keep your league active, here are a few idea's you can try. Schedule tournaments later in the evening or when you think most of your players would be on-line. If you don't have enough jumpers for a tournament then offer some ladder matches to keep the players that are there occupied. Remember to mark the room name in the comments field of the report loss page. That may come in handy when verifying a rooms usage. Try using game variations that may grab the interest of potential new members as well as keep you members interested. You can find some game variations here. I know how the warmer weather can effect your league from first hand experience, it was a shock to me at first also. After the Spring fever wear's off you will see some of your players get back on-line. |

Use Private
Chat for
Tournaments? |
Though most leagues use the main lobby for there tournaments, in some rooms there is a lot of chat already going on. I have seen a lot of instances were the chatters in the room got upset about a host using caps to conduct there tournament and arguing started. The last thing you want to do is give your league a bad name by being involved in a argument. The simple solution is to use the private chat to report matches and give token counts.
It may also be a lot easier for the host to see the reports, instead of trying to scroll back in the chat to find them. To make your league presence known in the main chat instead of running a add, as a example you could just state in the lobby "Hey were having a game-name tournament, the more the merrier, ladder bux prizes to the winners. If your interested just register at www.league-name.com."
There are pro's and con's to using a private chat but in some instances it just may be the better choice. |

| Room Disputes |
League-Fun.net is in no way affiliated with any gaming league site or gaming organization.
We do not have anything to do with or resolve room disputes, they are handled by your gaming authority. Our guide is a non - official tool to help new and old leagues find a room. If there are 2 leagues that want to list the same room with us, and it is not a room share agreement, all we will do is notify both leagues that the same room is requested. It is up to the league admin's to work out this problem. League-Fun.net will simply wait to here from either league to see if the room is being shared or not. When the dispute over the room is settled, the league admin should contact us and verify that the dispute has been settled from there gaming authority and there league has the room. Then we will post your league for that room. |
